Journal of Faculty Development, v39 n1 p45-53 2025
Campus administrators and faculty members conceptualized, planned, designed, implemented, and evaluated TANDEM (Thoughtful Advice. Nurtured Diversity. Engaged Mentorship.), a mentorship program designed to attract, support, and retain faculty. This article includes the stages of developing TANDEM and primarily focuses on how the program responded to the overwhelming interest of mentees, recruited mentors, developed a process to match and support program participants, and planned structured, low-structured, and semi-structured programming to build a post-pandemic faculty mentoring community. In a post-pandemic world, higher education needs faculty mentoring programs that go beyond traditional models to develop professional and personal connections among faculty.
